Painful Emergencies & General Anesthesia

Painful Emergencies

Oral infections and painful teeth are treated painlessly and safely with expert specialist care, usually with sedation or general anesthesia for oneʼs comfort, relaxation and safety. It is important not to eat or drink 6 hours prior to any procedures.

General Anesthesia

Dr. Ptak and his team are fully trained and licensed to give general anesthesia and intravenous (IV) sedation to their patients in office before surgery. Opting for general anesthesia or IV sedation will help patients fall asleep or be in a very relaxed state, experiencing no pain or discomfort whatsoever.

Patients are always closely monitored with the latest equipment to ensure safety and comfort, just like in a hospital operating room. A pulse oximeter provides patient pulse (heart beats per minute) and total oxygen level in the blood, an important indicator of patient health and safety.

An automatic blood pressure recorder gives frequent blood pressure readings; heart rhythm and rate are also monitored with an EKG. Emergency drugs and an automatic defibrillator are on hand at all times. Dr. Ptakʼs entire staff is CPR-certified and trained in emergency care.
